Skye Celeste Talbot

Childhood:
Born the youngest of five children to Elayne and Roger Talbot, Skye lived in the small town of Garden Glen in the Pacific Northwest. Her four siblings are Ginger, Jeff, Peter, and Becky. Each born one year apart. Skye and Becky are ten months apart, Skye having been a preemie, born two months early.

During her childhood, she took classes in ballet, ice skating, and gymnastics, however, she never competed for medals and had no Olympic ambitions. When she was five years old, her father left, abandoning his family for another woman. He was uninvolved with his children from then on. This left Elayne to raise five children on her own.

Skye was disappointed that her father was not involved in her life. She received only one birthday card from him from that point on, but it arrived on her sister Becky’s birthday rather than her own. She learned later on that her father married the other woman and had two other children by her, a daughter and a son, whom Skye has never met.

Adolescence:

In high school, Skye was on the pep rally, participating in rallies and sports events as a cheerleader. She also took part in Girls’ League. She sang with the school choir and participated in theater arts class, taking parts in some of the plays, which she found to be a lot of fun.

When she was 17, she was listening to her favorite radio show and heard a song by Tristan. His voice captivated her immediately so she went on the internet to look him up and learn about him. She immediately fell in love with him. She confided in this with her best friend Delsey Random, whom she had known since the fourth grade. Delsey also became a big fan.

Shortly after high school graduation, both Skye and Delsey got hired at a computer technology school as receptionists and clerical workers. After a year there, Delsey surprised Skye for her birthday with tickets to a Tristan concert that would be in Portland. They got on a coachline bus and got a hotel room so they could attend the concert.

During the concert, in the very opening of the show, Tristan had his hair pulled back in a ponytail. During the choreography, he accidentally caught his hand in his hair, pulling some strands loose, so he pulled the elastic band out and shot it out into the audience. To Skye’s shock, it landed in her lap. She kept the band the rest of her life.

Adulthood:
Working at the school, Skye had to deal with a man who was on staff there. He was narcissistic and strutted around the office like a peacock, flirting with all the women coworkers. He drove Skye crazy. He was good looking and he knew it, but his personality was overbearing. Skye tried to ignore him.

When she was 23, her mother won two tickets on a month-long Caribbean cruise and Skye was thankful when she was invited to go with her mother. It gave her a respite from the office playboy.

When they entered the ship, Skye saw a large sign advertising shows starring Tristan. She asked her mom if that was their cruise or if it was just advertising an upcoming cruise. Elayne told her that this was the cruise and this was the reason she entered the contest and invited Skye to come along. She knew she would be excited.

When they attended a show in the night club, they were seated at a table front and center, next to the stage. A close-up view of Tristan! When he made his entrance, Skye felt a chill when she thought he had made eye contact with her, flashing her one of his generous smiles. This was unbelievable.

When the ship seemed to hit something during the show, the audience was shaken out of their chairs to the floor and Tristan fell off the stage, landing on top of Skye. He got up, helped her back to her chair, and continued the show at the request of the ship’s captain, to calm the passengers.

As she and Elayne were leaving the night club after the show, Tristan chased her down to apologize for falling on her. He introduced himself (totally unnecessary) and asked her who she was. He wanted to make it up to her for landing so hard on her and he asked to show her around the ship. This led to the beginning of a friendship.

During the cruise, they felt further jarring in the ship. When he had the time off, Tristan made landfalls with Skye and Elayne, even though this was discouraged by the ship company and his agent. Skye was stunned that Tristan wanted to spend time with her, but she didn’t discourage him.

Pangaea:
Close to the end of the cruise, Tristan grabbed Skye’s iPhone and put his personal number in her contact list then he added hers to his phone. A couple of days before the end of the cruise, a strange storm brewed up and caused an eerie green fog to roll over the ship. Lightning struck the ship and the passengers were instructed to go to their cabins to be safe. On their way to their cabins, Tristan took Skye’s hand to lead her and a bolt of lightening struck him in his back between his shoulders. The shock ran through him and into Skye. They fell to the deck and the next lightning bolt blinded everyone still on the deck. When it cleared, Skye and Tristan were gone.

Waking up in a strange place, the first person they met was Varon, a strange old man who said he was a healer. He took them to his cottage. This was not the cruise ship, but where was it?

One thing led to another, and Cam, the teenage boy across the road from Varon’s cottage, was nabbed by the Patrol. Tristan ran out to stop them and he, Skye, and Varon were taken hostage with the teenager. They ended up in the prison where Skye was abused by the jailors.

While forced into harvesting reeds as slaves, a storm hit and overturned the wagons in which they were transported. They got away and ran as far away as they could.

This started a journey across the largest continent of Pangaea in search of the legendary Harborage, where they might find their way back home. They traveled to the far north dodging patrolmen, avoiding vicious animals, cutthroats, the slavery auction block, and blizzards. Along the way, they met Rowan, Kimber, Gillip, Shayne, and Laird.

Gondwana:
After being nabbed by Gondwani slavers in the far north, they were thrust into a slave ship and taken to the continent of Gondwana where they were separated and sent into different areas of slavery. Skye was sent with Kimber and Jonica to the palace where she was assigned to kitchen work.

During a royal banquet where she was serving, a civil war broke out and they managed to escape. After a series of events, they were reunited with the Varonites and were rescued by Rowan who obtained a ship and took them to Laurasia.

Laurasia:
After the ship was destroyed by a collision with another ship, Skye and her Varonite “family” find themselves separated once again on the continent of Laurasia. They agreed, if separated, to find their way to the imperial palace where their friend, Emperor Sulong, whom they met on the slave ship, would help them find their way home.

After rescuing Tristan from Sulong’s sister who held him captive, Sulong gave them a ship and promised to be their friend for his lifetime.

Camlin:
Skye and Tristan found they had a way to return to their home world via Tristan’s pendant that was given to him by a strange being, Gavron, during their journey across Pangaea. But when they returned home, nearly three years after living in the Pangaean world, Skye and Tristan found they couldn’t deal with it. They returned to Pangaea to be reunited with their Varonian family. They landed on an abandoned island where a walled city lay unoccupied for a hundred years. They found cottages, public buildings, gardens, all of which needed cleaning and repairing, but they found their home.

Skye and Tristan were married during their voyage to Camlin Island. In a couple of years, Skye lost a baby girl, gave birth to identical twin boys, and another girl, and eventually another boy. Many more events took place here, some good and some bad, but they made their permanent home, naming the walled city after their mentor, Varon: Varonia.
